Preheat oven to Gas mark 2/150C. Mix the eggs, vanilla and kahula together with a whisk.
In a mixing bowl combine flour, caster sugar, cocoa powder, coffee, baking powder and salt. Add the egg mixture and mix well. Add chocolate pieces.
Divide dough in half. Shape into 2 logs and place on a baking sheet covered with non stick reusable liner or parchment paper, leaving about 5cm between them.
Bake in the oven for 50 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from oven, cool for 5 minutes and then cut with a serrated knife (slice about 1.5cm/5/8" thick) at a 45 degree angle-discard end pieces.
Place slices upright on a baking sheet and return to a slightly cooler oven, Gas mark 1/140C for about 20 minutes to dry slightly. Cool on a rack and then store in an airtight container.
