In the UK, Halloween has sometimes been vilified as being too commercial or too American. But it’s the perfect celebration for kids. It’s gory and gross and it’s a well known fact that children are genetically predisposed to love gory and gross (we are not sure of any genuine scientific evidence for this, but the kids we know are lovers of blood, guts and bogeys).
